Is chiropractic safe?

Chiropractic is widely recognised as one of the safest, drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of headaches, and neck and back pain.

It has an excellent safety record. Although no health treatment is completely free of risk.

Chiropractors are trained to pick up early signs of those who may be at risk of an adverse reaction.

Even common over-the-counter medicines carry a risk.

What is an adjustment?
An adjustment is a highly skilled and precise movement usually applied by hand to a joint of the body, isolating a particular area and at a very high velocity. The adjustment moves the joint to restore proper movement and optimise function. When a joint is adjusted, you may or may not hear a “popping” sound; this is not bone on bone but rather a tissue release. The same sound can actually be created in the release of chronic muscle adhesions.

when should I have an adjustment?
We believe that everyone should have a chiropractic assessment and that can start from birth, especially after the possible physical trauma of labour, or at any stage of life. Many problems can go on undetected for years until the body can no longer adapt and then pain presents. For most people, pain is the only time they are aware something is wrong. Unfortunately, this can keep them away from work, school, or even their day-to-day activities. If you’ve come to the point where pain causes interruptions and restrictions in the activities of your daily life then it is recommended you see a chiropractor as soon as possible.

We do take Medicare Referrals and can Bulk Bill with a relevant GP referral but ask that you have at least 4 appointments to ensure you receive the full benefit of our care.
Does chiropractic care require x-rays?
X-rays can play an important role in diagnosis and are taken when a need has been determined after taking a patient case history and conducting a physical examination.
